Mid-Century Monday: Carrington Drive, Raleigh

Each Monday here on the Red Bloom Realty Blog, I highlight a home in the Triangle that is in a mid-century style. Today’s spot light is a bit more contemporary than mid-century, but you’ll like it anyway!

Sometimes you see a design and think that it looks interesting, but isn’t very functional. Other times you see a space that is incredibly functional, but looks bland and boring. This home on Carrington Drive in Raleigh strikes the perfect balance of form and function. It is visually appealing, while still providing usability. Its 3000 square feet of space sits on 1 acre of land. So, there is plenty of room inside and out.

The heart of this home is the windows and stone fireplace. The vaulted ceiling both enhances the openness and provides architectural interesting, giving space for the lofted walk bridge and bonus spaces. There are four bedrooms and three full baths in this 1984 build. That year places is outside of the traditional mid-century time frame. But, the character of the design holds strong.
