Each Monday here on the Red Bloom Realty Blog, I am going to highlight a home in the Triangle that is in the mid-century style. Even if you’re not familiar with that term, you are likely familiar with the style itself. While the term is somewhat hard to define, it is used to describe a style of homes either built in the mid-1900s (approximately 1940-1970) or inspired by the design of that time period. They are often angular, minimalist, and connect the outdoors with the inside. The open spaces of many of these homes connect them to the current open-concept trend, and their frequent use of large panes of glass often give them plenty of light and views.
These homes are found throughout the Triangle, and this post shines the spotlight on 1019 Highland Woods Road in Chapel Hill. This home has a ton of upgrades that are nicely mixed in with original features of the home, giving you modern conveniences with mid-century modern design. This home especially does a nice job of mixing outdoor and indoor living, with the cool outside bar that looks into the kitchen. It is a unique home, and very close to UNC, and my guess is it will get scooped up quickly! Since in-person showings still aren’t allowed in Orange County, take a look at the virtual tour and let me know if you’d like to make an offer!
